Education & Conservation

I am one of the original founders of the TUWC. I became involved when Turkey Mountain was threatened to lose parcels of land for private development. My past experience in environmental education and advocacy was useful and I am happy to see the outcome of our original efforts. I am excited to see the future plans for Turkey Mountain and other public trail systems.

Why the TUWC is important to you

The TUWC is one organization that is the voice for those who care about our urban wild spaces. It unifies people with a wide variety of interests ranging from outdoor recreation, conservation, bird watching to community engagement. Our public wilderness areas bring us all together, make us healthier, and are not exclusive to those who can afford it.

Do you have any heroes?

It is more of a list, but included on that list would be Jimmy Carter and Jane Goodall

What inspires you?

I love it when people look at a problem and decide to find a creative way to do something about it. I have always believed in the power of the volunteer to accomplish what you would likely never be able to pay someone to do.
